Figure Out Anatomy
We create hand-made anatomical models and artworks to explore and encourage the enjoyment of anatomy. Our bespoke creations are suitable for educational settings, exhibition and display. The models are designed as teaching tools, able to present complex concepts in ways that assist and clarify understanding of anatomy. Each design aims to make learning about the structure and function of the human body enjoyable and rewarding.
We also produce a small collection of anatomical artworks which are ideal as unique gifts for students, educators and professionals, or anyone with an interest in anatomy.
Anatomy figures and Artworks
Cutaneous nerve distributions - V1
These models illustrate the cutaneous distribution of the peripheral nerves alongside dermatome patterns based on the descriptions by Foerster (1927) and clinical studies. The stunning high gloss enamel finish provides a polished and durable surface.

These eye-catching models illustrate the cutaneous distribution of peripheral nerves alongside the dermatome patterns based on descriptions by Keegan & Garrett (1945).
Figured whiteboards
These models provide the classroom or laboratory with a blank figured canvas, perfect for practising surface anatomy or condensing knowledge. They facilitate active learning enabling the drawing of structures in situ - tendons, nerve pathways, arterial branching patterns and more.
The whiteboard figures are prepared with a 2pac antimicrobial paint, creating a dry erasable surface that is durable and suited for use in both classrooms and laboratories.
3-D brachial plexus
An eye catching three dimensional model of the brachial plexus which clearly shows the distribution of the C5-T1 nerve fibres extending throughout the peripheral cutaneous nerves of the upper limb. The roots, trunks, divisions, cords and branches of the brachial plexus are clearly visible.
3-D artworks
Created using the beautiful illustrations of Henry Vandyke Carter from Gray's Anatomy, these artworks accurately layer the anatomical structures bringing the drawings to life in a 3 dimensional display.

Our approach:
At Figure Out Anatomy we design and create anatomical models that combine artistic craftsmanship with precise anatomical details. Every model is individually crafted, with a focus on anatomical accuracy, durability, and thoughtful design.
We use high quality materials to create our figures and where possible, we restore and repurpose existing fibreglass mannequins—transforming them into detailed anatomical pieces. This approach reduces waste and minimises the environmental footprint of our work.

With nearly two decades of experience as an anatomist and educator, Kylie has developed a deep understanding of the challenges faced when engaging with complex anatomical concepts. Her creative work is driven by her passion for making complex anatomy clear through physical, three-dimensional forms.
This has led to the creation of Figure Out Anatomy—a growing collection of models and resources designed to support teaching and learning, and encourage a deeper engagement and enjoyment of anatomy.
